The Ultimate Saucy Kebab Wrap

If you’re craving takeaway vibes at home—but better—this Zulekha beef kebab sandwich wrap is the one. It’s got juicy, air-fried kebabs, buttery fried peppers and mushrooms, a fresh, zesty onion salad with sumac, and a bold triple-sauce combo, all wrapped up with melty Gouda cheese.

It’s quick, messy in the best way, and seriously satisfying.

Ingredients

For the fresh onion salad:

  • 1 onion, thinly sliced

  • A handful of parsley, finely chopped

  • Juice of ½ lemon

  • 1 tsp sumac

  • Salt & black pepper, to taste

For the filling:

  • A small knob of butter

  • 1 pepper, sliced

  • A handful of mushrooms, sliced

  • Kebabs (from the pack)

  • Wrap breads

  • Gouda cheese, sliced (2 slices per wrap)

For the sauce:

  • Peri peri sauce

  • BBQ sauce

  • Cranberry sauce

Recipe

1. Make the fresh onion salad
In a bowl, add the sliced onion, chopped parsley, lemon juice, sumac, salt, and pepper. Mix everything well and set aside. This adds a fresh, tangy contrast to the rich kebab and cheese.

2. Fry the vegetables
Heat a frying pan over medium heat and add a little butter.
Add the sliced pepper and mushrooms and fry until soft, slightly golden, and fragrant. Set aside.

3. Mix the sauce
In a small bowl, mix peri peri sauce, BBQ sauce, and cranberry sauce. Adjust the amounts to your taste—you want a balance of spicy, smoky, and sweet.

4. Air fry the kebabs
Open the Zulekha kebab pack and place them in the air fryer.
Cook at 180°C for 3 minutes until hot and slightly crisp on the outside.

5. Assemble the wrap
Warm your wrap bread, then:

  • Spread a generous layer of the mixed sauce

  • Add 2 slices of Gouda cheese

  • Add the hot kebabs

  • Top with the buttery fried peppers and mushrooms

  • Finish with the fresh onion sumac salad

6. Wrap, cut, and enjoy
Roll it up tightly, slice in half if you like, and serve immediately while everything’s hot and melty.

Why This Works

  • The sumac onion salad cuts through the richness with freshness and tang

  • The buttery veg adds sweetness and depth

  • The triple sauce brings heat, smoke, and a little sweetness

  • The Gouda melts into everything and holds the wrap together

It’s basically a takeaway-style kebab wrap—just fresher, cheesier, and way more satisfying at home.

Pro Tips

  • No Gouda? Mozzarella or cheddar works great too.

  • Toast the wrapped sandwich in a pan for 1–2 minutes for extra crispiness.
